Jay Brown is a glass artist currently living and working in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts. His artistic approach is simple; have fun with the glass, accept the molten material for what it is, and create a desirable form by the end of the process.
His works are made using a variety of ancient Venetian glass making techniques that have been passed down for centuries. He creates objects that can be used as both decorative and functional works of art. Jay currently works as the Hot Shop Manager at Josh Simpson Contemporary Glass. He has worked as a teaching assistant and taken classes at many educational institutions such as: The Studio at the Corning Museum of Glass, The Hot Glass Art Center, and Snow Farm Craft School. Jay’s blown glass pieces can be found in select galleries and at craft shows throughout New England.
